Fortnite Adds 120 FPS Support and New Mode Inspired Among Us

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The latest Fortnite update has added 120 FPS support in Battle Royale and Creative modes on the next generation consoles PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. Players can enable the feature by enabling 120 FPS mode in the Fortnite video settings menu. To achieve a consistent framerate, Epic says the 120 FPS mode lowers the max resolution on the Xbox Series X and PS5 from 4K to 1440p.

It also “slightly reduces” shadow settings, postprocessing and streaming distances, but keeps volumetric clouds, physical rim lighting, and high-quality shaders enabled. The 120 FPS mode lowers the maximum resolution on the Xbox Series S from 1200p to 1080p. This reduces shadow resolution and other settings and also disables volumetric clouds.

Epic has also launched a new mode called The Spy Within. Inspired by the game Among Us, this mode will feature a series of hidden identity games created by members of the Fortnite community.

The Spy Within supports 10 players including two spies and eight agents, who start each round simply knowing which team they are on. The spies are tasked with eliminating agents without revealing their identities, which they need to do before the agents complete their mission.

Epic launched Fortnite Chapter 2 – Season 5 earlier this month, bringing together great hunters across all realities. The Battle Pass challenges players to complete bounties to unlock new hunters including The Mandalorian and Baby Yoda, Gladiator Menace, flapjack man Mancake, and the shape-shifting barbarian warrior Mave. Kratos God of War and Master Chief Halo have also been added to the game as skins that can be purchased as part of the Gaming Legends series.
