PUBG Sold 1 Million Copies on Xbox One in 48 Hours

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds has made the jump to consoles and is off to a promising start. Microsoft today announced that its Bluehole survival shooter game has sold over 1 million copies in its first two days of sales.

The game launched on Xbox One as a console exclusive this Tuesday after months of waiting. However, the first impression is not good. The Fellow Gamer Network site Eurogamer compared it to the already-prepared Early Access PC version, saying, “In terms of first impressions, PUBG is horrendous – an attack on low-quality artwork, very snappy pop-ins and disappointing performance.

Nonetheless, PUBG has been positioned as one of the key selling points for Microsoft’s Xbox One X heading into this holiday. The company is doubling down on the link between the game and its premium pricing system, as it also announced a promotion that starts this Sunday and runs through the end of the year that will see every Xbox One X hardware purchase (in select regions) come with a free PUBG game.
