3 Ways to Use VPN on PC / Laptop (100% Passing Positive Internet)
If you have problems with blocked sites, Positive Internet, or internet access abroad, maybe you can consider using a VPN (Virtual Private Network). From the name alone we can mean that a VPN is a network private, where you can surf the internet without being recognized. Your IP Address and network location will be disguised by connecting you to server provided by the VPN device you are using.
Some of the VPN applications used provide a feature to select the location and connection speed provided by server-his. You can choose server abroad to be able to watch that country’s TV broadcasts live on line. Or you can also watch football with a faster connection.
How to Use VPN on PC/Laptop
To use a VPN on a PC/laptop this time I will try to open a blocked site. I will access Tumblr, we know that this site has long been closed by the Indonesian government. Below is the display picture browser Chrome when opening the Tumblr site before using a VPN. You can see the statement This site can’t be reached which appears when we access it using server Indonesian local.
In this discussion I will use a VPN in the form of an extension or add-ons added to browser, or is innate browser itself. As for the VPNs that I use are anonymous, Touch VPN, and the default VPN browser Opera.
1. Using Browser Extensions
The following two extensions are used on browser. Check out the steps for using the following VPN extensions.
a. anonymousX
You can use the anonymoX extension on Chrome and Firefox. How to apply it to both browser it’s not much different. You just need to search anonymoX on extensions in browser Chrome and add-ons in browser Firefox. Here are the steps to use anonymoX on Chrome.
1. Open Chrome on your PC/laptop. Click the menu icon in the right corner browser. choose More tools and click Extensions.
2. After that, you will be on the Extensions page. Click play menu on the top left browser as shown in the picture.
3. Then, a menu list will appear on the left of the display browser. Click option Open Chrome Web Store which is located at the bottom of the menu.
4. On the Chrome Web Store page, type anonymousX in the search field.
5. You will find anonymoX extension. Then, click the button ADD TO CHROME on the anonymoX section, as in the image below.
6. Next, will appear pop-up to confirm with you in adding anonymoX extension to your Chrome. Click Add extension.
7. AnonymoX is ready to use. You will find anonymoX logo on browser You are like in the picture. This applies if this extension is already active.
8. Then to test if the VPN has been successfully implemented, I opened the Tumblr site and the results you can see in the image, Tumblr is finally accessible.
b. Touch VPN
Not much different from anonymoX, the steps for using the Touch VPN extension will also be implemented on browser Chrome below.
1. Open your Chrome then click the menu icon located in the upper right corner of the screen browser. Click More tools and select Extensions.
2. Click play menu as shown in the image below.
3. Then, click Open Chrome Web Store to visit the page store Chrome.
4. Type touch vpn in the search field.
5. Pay attention to the Touch VPN extension you choose. Then click the button ADD TO CHROME which is blue in the Touch VPN section.
6. After that, will appear pop-up like the picture below. You can read first before clicking the button Add extension.
7. Next, the Touch VPN icon will appear on the display bar in your Chrome as shown in the image below. However, Touch VPN does not automatically establish a connection. This is indicated by the color of the icon which is still gray, which means that your VPN is not active. To enable connection on Touch VPN, click on its icon, then click on the circle that says Connect.
8. After that, Touch VPN automatically connects you to server. Chrome that has been connected will display a green Touch VPN icon, indicating that Touch VPN is active.
9. Then, I tried to access the Tumblr page. And see the result in the picture. I can open this site.
2. Using Opera Browser
Opera has a built-in VPN feature so you don’t need to add extensions like browser another. However, when you install browser Opera on your PC/laptop, Opera does not automatically activate its VPN. You have to do some settings to connect it to the VPN. Then, how?
1. Open browser Opera then click the opera logo in the upper left corner of the display.
2. Select Settings to switch to the settings page.
3. Next, click on options Privacy & security on the left. On the right, look for VPN and checklist the box the arrow points to Enable VPN.
4. After you do checklist, an option will appear below that is Bypass VPN for default search engines. If you men-checklist In that section, the search is carried out using a search engine default Opera will detect your actual IP Address and location to return search results, even when the VPN is active. For that, I suggest if your connection want to be unknown then do it un-checklist on Bypass VPN for default search engines.
5. Well, you can see address bar in Opera you have shown the words VPN in blue. This means that your Opera VPN is active, and you can connect to server they.
6. This is an example of Opera when accessing a Tumblr site that has implemented a VPN.
