Resident Evil Village Will Have Photo Mode and Can Skip Cutscenes

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – IGN recently published a five-minute video clip showing gameplay from the next Resident Evil, Resident Evil Village (RE8) running on PlayStation 4 Pro 4K at 60fps.

In addition to the game display, this video also shows several new features in the game which is planned to be released on 7 May. One of them is a photo mode that allows players to capture in-game scenes and events.

In addition, players can now skip cutscenes by pressing the option button. Just a reminder, in RE7 players can’t go through cutscenes, except for the cutscene when Eveline goes berserk and sinks the ship Mia is riding.

The skip cutscene feature in Resident Evil Village will certainly make it easier for players who want to repeat the game or do a speedrun, without having to watch cutscenes that have a relatively long duration.

In the 5-minute RE8 gameplay video published by IGN (spoiler), there is also a cutscene where Lady Dimitrescu is talking on the phone with the mysterious Mother Miranda. One of the main antagonists in the game appears to be throwing his dresser across the room.

Furthermore, players can also see protagonist Ethan Winters roaming the dungeons of Castle Dimitrescu, as well as stabbing and blowing up several hooded creatures in a first-person perspective. Resident Evil Village does restore the first person perspective like in Resident Evil 7, which according to director Morimasa Sato will maximize tension and terrible moments in the game.

Because it runs on the last generation PS4 Pro, the textures and lighting in the video display look less than optimal. RE8 loyal fans certainly hope this game will perform better on the next generation of PC and consoles, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series. In addition to consoles (including Xbox One) and PC, Resident Evil Village will also be released on Stadia. (zal-END)
