Preview HP Specter x360 (2021): Honor in Exclusive Fields

When the first Specter laptop was introduced to the market for the first time a few years ago, it offered a slick device that showcased a different design from other laptops in the same class. Well … it used to attract attention, and became one of the stars of premium laptops in 2021. Now, does the HP Specter x360 (2021) still offer the same taste? Or are there more improvements we can see from that one device?

The latest generation Specter X360 does look a little more conventional, although it retains the characteristics of the original design. It is said that the latest generation Specter 360 device in black and gold looks more attractive to the eye. And even if that color doesn’t appeal to you, there are many other color options offered by HP.

Design and Screen

The latest generation Specter X360 is very light, with a thickness of only about 13.6mm and a total weight of 1.26 kilograms. Its almost borderless screen makes it appear as a laptop device that looks smaller than some 13-inch laptops that are much older.

The top is made entirely of aluminum metal, which of course makes it look really good and feel expensive – and that’s why it’s exclusive. And because this device is a 2-in-1 device, you can flip the screen and turn the Specter X360 into a tablet. In tablet mode, the keyboard functions as the legs that support the screen.

If you don’t care about that kind of hybrid style, consider the Specter 13 too (without the “X360” label pinned on it). It is said that his brother was much thinner and lighter. But if you don’t have a problem with that kind of hybrid mode, you will get the option of a device with two choices, namely one with a 13.3-inch screen, and the second that comes with a 15.6-inch screen.

In terms of design, two Thunderbolt 3.0 USB-C ports are available on the right outer edge of the device, and USB 3.1 on the left. But you don’t need a new adapter or cable just to connect an external hard drive or USB flash drive there. Then …. there is a microSD slot which is useful if you want to add external storage.

The style of the keyboard is also typical of the ultrabook class, light and comfortable, even when used for long typing. And … no matter whether the user is after a 13.3-inch or 15.6-inch laptop, the HP Specter X360 offers a screen with a native 4K resolution, which of course provides image sharpness that is comfortable on the eyes.

Overall Performance

The eighth generation Intel Core used in the Specter X360 is “only” in the i5-8250U class, but it won’t be a problem when it is used to carry out tasks that are designed to support daily productivity. Moreover, the screen contrast is very good, coupled with a fairly steady color reproduction, it’s more than enough to add to the side of luxury and portability.

In turn, anyone will be jealous of people who carry and open the Specter X360 in front of their eyes. Laptops with a price range of approximately 24 million, this one device deserves to be included in the shopping list for a new laptop in this year of the dog.
