Irwan Guswanto Clarification Regarding Rummy Game Insulting Islam

Indonesian playing games that allegedly insulted the Prophet Muhammad and the Islamic religion inevitably dragged Irwan Guswanto alias IG as the game developer. Previously, the Indonesian playing game has gone viral since it was uploaded to the @opposite6890 twitter account and has received a lot of negative responses from the public.

The team from the National Police Headquarters then responded to this incident by visiting Irwan Guswanto (IG)’s house on Saturday (9/11) at 21.00 and ransacked his house for two hours. Several pieces of evidence such as cellphones, laptops, books and several files were secured by the police for further investigation.

Known to be Diligent in Worship and Social

On Saturday night (9/11), Irwan was arrested while he was at his father-in-law’s house which is located not far from his house. It’s still the same village but the RW is different from Irwan’s, as stated by one resident Hilal Judin who is the head of the local RW and Irwan Guswanto’s neighbor. Hilal also revealed that the residents around where he lived knew him as a consultant, but he also didn’t really know for sure what Irwan’s job was.

“So when he was arrested he (IG) was at his father-in-law’s house. It’s still one village, just different RW. Then the police took him to his house.

“I know that Mr. IG is a consultant. I just don’t know what the exact job is. People here know that IG works at night,”

In addition, he is also known as a person who diligently prays to the mosque, and you can even say he never misses the five daily prayers at the mosque when Irwan is at home. He is also known as a resident who diligently socializes with the surrounding community and is known to often provide assistance whenever there is an event in the area where he lives.

Irwan Guswanto’s Clarification

On Saturday (9/11) at 21.00, a team from Police Headquarters consisting of 12 people searched Irwan Guswanto’s house for two hours and then secured a number of items such as cellphones, laptops, books and several files from inside the house. That night, many residents were shocked and did not believe that Irwan’s arrest was related to a game that insulted the Prophet Muhammad in particular and Islam in general. However, Hilal asked the residents to calm down and wait for the process carried out by the police because what was alleged to Irwan was not necessarily true.

After an examination, Irwan has now been released by the police and is required to report while waiting for further investigations carried out by the police. Recently, Irwan Guswanto gave clarification regarding the case that happened to him through a video. In the video, Irwan Guswanto admitted that he was being slandered because his game content suddenly had such a negative charge.

Irwan said that before he was arrested, he claimed to have received many calls from people closest to him regarding the viral news. He also swore that he would never intentionally make an insulting tone to the Prophet Muhammad and the religion of Islam, besides that Irwan also promised to further research how such insulting words could appear in the game he made.

Irwan Guswanto has already provided clarification regarding the allegations of insulting Islam in the Indonesian playing card game he made, it is hoped that the public will not make assumptions that lead to slander before an investigation from the police.
