Quoted from Kyodo by ANTARA, the area titled Super Nintendo World will feature augmented reality (AR) attractions, including the world’s first interactive Mario Kart amusement park ride, which was unveiled to the media on the same day. The opening of this new area was originally scheduled for last July, but had to be pushed to spring 2021 due to COVID-19. However, now that date is pushed forward a bit earlier in February.
USJ itself has reduced visitor numbers to about half of its capacity to prevent the spread of the virus. The amusement park will also restrict entry to new areas. While international travel to Japan is currently limited, Super Nintendo World will await travelers as soon as flights reopen.
Not only that, in 2023, the US Super Nintendo World will be present at the Universal Epic Universe theme park in Orlando.
