Free Fire World Series 2021 to be held soon, total prizes of IDR 28 billion!

Telset.id, Jakarta – Garena announced that a world tournament titled Free Fire World Series 2021 Singapore (FFWS 2021 SG) will soon be held by offering a total prize of USD 2,000,000 or around Rp. 28 billion.

This prize nominal is the largest in the history of the Free Fire esports competition. FFWS 2021 SG will take place in Singapore in May 2021, and mark the beginning of the return of the normal Free Fire international esports tournament, after previously being held online due to the Covid 19 pandemic.

The World Series is the biggest and most iconic esports tournament from Free Fire. For example, the inaugural tournament, the 2021 Free Fire World Series, was watched by more than 2 million viewers at the same time.

This achievement then became a world record for the first mobile game esports tournament according to Esports Charts.

FFWS 2021 SG will hold the Play-ins on 22 May and the Final on 29 May. It was previously announced that it would be held on April 24 (Play-Ins) and May 1 (Finals), but was postponed due to the global pandemic situation.

A total of 22 teams from 14 regions will compete in Singapore to become the world champion of Free Fire and compete for a total prize of 28 billion rupiah, one of the prize pools with the largest numbers in the history of mobile game esports.

The Play-Ins round will bring together the 12 teams that finished first or second in their respective regional tournaments. The top two teams will then join the 10 best teams in the world who are already waiting for the Finals.

All teams will compete in 6 rounds, across 3 maps, to be the last one standing, with points based on the rank of each round and the number of kills.

The Free Fire World Series 2021 SG is proof of Garena’s ongoing commitment to providing attractive and competitive esports content for the global community. Everything is carried out while prioritizing the safety of all members involved.

Garena ensures that all activities are in line with public health protocols and applicable travel policies.

To achieve this goal, Garena is organizing FFWS 2021 SG with support from the Singapore Tourism Board (STB) and in close collaboration with various industry experts and organizations such as the Singapore Cybersports and Online Gaming Association (SCOGA).
