Sony Reportedly Ready to Compensate for Cyberpunk 2077 Gamers Complaints on PS4
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – PlayStation reportedly issued a refund for the digital copy of Cyberpunk 2077 after players complained about the game’s performance on PS4. Since the game’s release Thursday (10/12/2021), frustrated gamers have been venting their frustrations on social media Twitter, using the hashtag #CyberBug2077 to show the high number of graphic bugs and crashes that exist in the console version of the game, especially when played on PS4.
Social media videos show the PS4 and Xbox One versions of Cyberpunk 2077 taking a lot of time to load environments and characters, as well as experiencing graphic glitches and even crashes. In a recent technical analysis, Digital Foundry called Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on the PS4 “unacceptable”.
A Reddit user claimed on Saturday (12/12/2021) that he could receive a refund for his digital PS4 games by contacting the PlayStation support line.
“I had to file a support claim online and waited for over an hour to talk to someone, but they quickly gave me a refund and then removed the game from my library.”
Another user on Reddit also claims to be able to get a refund by contacting PlayStation support.
“Spent an hour on the phone after being rejected by Chatbot and I got a refund! Shouts out to you/SirPanic12 for advice on game crashing and not being able to progress any further. That’s all I have to say.”
Sony introduced a new PlayStation Store refund policy last year that gives users 14 days to cancel PS4 digital purchases. Terms include pre-order content, as well as released games and DLC that players have not yet started downloading or streaming.
If a user has already started downloading or streaming purchased content, they are not eligible for a refund unless the content is “broken”.
