Four Indonesian Teams Compete in the Asus ROG-Masters Qualification

The ASUS ROG-Masters Asia Pacific qualifiers will kick off this weekend. Dozens of teams Dota 2 and CS:GO from Asia Pacific will compete for tickets to the main tournament against teams from other regions.

Welcoming this, the ASUS ROG team announced the format and the teams that will compete in this qualifier.

Dota 2

Qualification Dota 2 provides two tickets to the main tournament and is divided into two phases, namely regional qualifiers and final qualifiers.

In the regional qualifiers, 13 teams from each country’s qualifiers and open qualifiers will compete. One team that wins will advance to the final qualifiers, where they are already awaited by seven other teams who receive direct invitations.

In this qualification, Indonesia will be represented by BOOM ID and Rex Regum Qeon. BOOM ID itself is actually the winner of the Indonesian qualification for the ASUS ROG-Masters. However, they did get a direct invitation, so they were entitled to advance to the final qualifiers. Their place in the regional qualifiers was replaced by Rex Regum Qeon who was runner-up in Indonesia.

Besides BOOM ID, the ASUS ROG-Masters final qualifier will be filled by strong Southeast Asian teams such as TNC Pro Team, Execration, Mineski, WG.Unity, Clutch Gamers, and Geek Fam.

Unfortunately, we did not get any information regarding the format of the regional qualifiers nor the final qualifiers for the division Dota 2 this.

CS:GO

Same as Dota 2, the CS:GO qualifier provides two tickets to the main tournament and consists of a regional qualifier phase and a final qualifier. But the team selection is a little different compared to Dota 2.

The regional qualifiers were participated by 12 teams. Some of these teams were the winners of their country’s qualifiers, while the rest were runner-up or third place in the state qualifiers.

These 12 teams will be divided into four groups and compete in the format round robin. The two best teams from each group will then advance to playoffs with the format single elimination. The team that won the round playoffs then advance to the final qualifying phase.

In the final qualifiers, seven teams were waiting, consisting of six winning teams from the state qualifiers and one invited team. A total of eight teams in this final qualifier will compete in the format single elimination, and the two best teams will advance to the main tournament.

For CS:GO, Indonesia will be represented by Akara and Recca Esports. As the champion in the Indonesian qualifiers, Akara has the right to directly play in the final qualifiers, while Recca Esports is the winner runner-up have to fight in the regional qualifiers first.

In the final qualification, Akara will play against BOOT-dreamScape (invitation), Grayhound Gaming (Australia), Fire Dragoon (Malaysia), Mineski (Philippines), Signature Gaming (Thailand), and Vikings Gaming (Vietnam).


The ASUS ROG-Masters Asia Pacific qualifier will run from October 26 to 29 and will be held in the Philippines. good luck for Indonesian representatives. Hope to advance to the main tournament.
