RE8 Village Guide Part 4: Embark on an Adventure at Castle Dimitrescu

If you’ve read the previous RE Village guide part 3 and are currently reading the continuation of the Resident Evil Village storyline, we assume that you’ve just made it through the Heisenberg Trap, past the vineyards, and met the Duke for the first time.

In this guide you will be taken to Castle Dimitrescu. Where you will meet Dimitrescu’s children first before meeting the boss. After finishing selling or buying equipment at the merchant, Duke. Then head through the portcullis and into the castle, and the adventure begins.

In the living room, go up the stairs and break the vase on the left to pick up some Shotgun bullets. Opposite it, there is a cupboard with a glass front, just crush it with a knife and it will contain Gunpowder. Next, take the room to the right of reception to pick up some Lei, then head to the door and down the corridor across the room with the elevator turned off.

Walk along the corridor and destroy the vase at the end to get some Handgun bullets, then go through the door. If you look at the map, you should be in a room called “Hall of the Four“. Check the writing on the door on the west side and you’ll see a cutscene.

Dimitrescu Sisters

When the cutscene is over, you’ll see yourself hanging from a meat hook in Bedchamber. Look at your hands and interact to break free in the most painful way possible. Take Crimson Glass from the table across from the fireplace.

On your left there is a locked drawer, you can open it if you have a spare pick, Inside it contains some Shotgun bullets. After that open the fireplace and crawl inside.

Once you’re crawling, pick up the Rusted Scrap immediately to the left as you stand. Go to the end of this corridor and get the Maroon Eye Ring. The door in front will open, allowing you to enter. Then there’s a drawer in front of you that contains some Chem Fluid.

Take it and then take your folder back to the Bedchamber (bedroom) so you can get Gunpowder from the drawer at the end of this corridor. You can also unlock the route to Bedchamber from here if you want. When you’ve done that, head to the other end of the corridor and return to Hall of the Four.

Maroon Four

When you enter, 4 statues will rise from the ground. Don’t worry about this. Climb the main stairs and enter the Main Hall. Unlock the door on the right, which leads back to the Reception, so this way will make your journey easier.

Now go up the stairs and turn right, destroy the vase at the end of the balcony to get some Handgun bullets. Check the Maroon Eye Ring in your inventory to remove the Maroon Eye, and use the door with the face on it. When you’re done, you’ll be attacked by one of Dimitrescu’s daughters.

There’s no point in shooting them here, it’s just a waste of bullets. Due to weakness Dimitrescu’s daughter was not shot. So the best way is to run and avoid contact with him. Head down the fancy corridor and turn left, ignoring the locked door straight ahead.

Next go through the door at the end of the corridor and remove the board covering the gap in the dressing room wall. Behind the plank, there is a hole in the floor where you can descend to the dungeon below the castle.

Head down the stairs, pick up the Rusted Scrap on your left and continue down the corridor, crawling through the room ahead. After you exit the crawlspace and enter the Tasting Room, pick up the Handgun bullet on your right.

Exit the Tasting Room and descend the stairs of the corridor ahead. Once the corridor opens, turn left and destroy the shatterable boxes on the shelves to get some Handgun bullets, then head to the Hall of War, a room with a chandelier.

Torch Resident Evil Village Puzzle

You just need to shoot the candle holder from the right angle to make it fly to the two unlit torches at the edge of the room, this will show you the way out. Walk through the dark dungeon until you come to a place where there is a note on the table and the way forward is blocked.

Take a left from there and enter the cell. The inside wall has collapsed, allowing you to walk to the next cell. Exit that cell so you’ll be back in another corridor.

Continue down the corridor and ignore the bodies in the sacks falling from above. Just to his left, in the cell, there is a box that you can destroy, inside it contains some Handgun bullets. The next cell has some Rusted Scrap and next to it some Metal Scrap.

Exit the cell and turn left into the next section of the room in the basement corridor. Get ready to fight.

Here you will be attacked by slow-moving zombies. Aim for the head is the right choice, but don’t forget to slow down their movement shoot the legs and release their weapons by shooting their hand guns.

Just need to keep your distance and go. In the new dungeon section, there’s a room to your left and there’s an unbreakable box that contains a certain amount of Lei. Crawl through the hole in the wall to go to the next cell where you’ll find another box, this time containing a Pipe Bomb. But be careful, zombies will crawl out.

Keep moving through the dungeon, towards The Chamber of Solace. You’ll find another box containing Lei, as well as a few more zombies that want to kill you. Make sure you look around the ground to find Lei dropped by the enemy, and you might also get a valuable treasure in the form of an English Necklace around here.

If you continue to follow the main path, you will be in a room where light has penetrated from above. Even so, the zombies still roam, keep shooting at them when the zombies appear.

There’s another cell here which of course has an unbreakable box and contains some Handgun bullets. Once you have it, exit the well-lit room by taking the stairs elsewhere.

Princess Dimitrescu

Follow the corridor around the right and to the right again, break the box containing Lei. One of Dimitrescu’s daughters will appear to attack you. Keep moving and follow the corridors around, aiming to exit through the stairs. Enter the cells along the way to destroy some of the boxes that contain extra ammo.

Once you climb the stairs, turn right and straight ahead, pick up Chem Fluid. On your left, there are some boards blocking your way, interact with them to get rid of them, after which a cutscene will occur.

Now that the window has been shattered, the vampire girl is vulnerable to bullets. Shoot him with the Shotgun to take him out quickly. After he dies, if you go back to the corridor you came from but go through the stairs, there are some Shotgun bullets at the end.

Once you’ve picked it up, return to the room with the broken window. Take the remaining ammo in the room and exit through the open door. In the next room, you will find a key item “Sanguis Virginis“. In addition there are some Rusted Scrap and an unbreakable box containing Lei.

When you exit the room there is a drawer to your left that can be opened with a key. Take the Wooden Angel Statue, and there is a metal box that can be opened, the box contains the Recoil Compensator upgrade for the LEMI Handgun. You must manually equip the LEMI weapon section in your inventory.

Exit through the door near the lockpick and you will be in the Dining Room. From here you can return to the Main Hall which will take you to the next part of the Resident Evil 8 Village guide.
