ESL One Birmingham 2021 Announced, OG Becomes First Invited Team

With or without Dota Pro Circuit status, ESL is one of the organizers who diligently holds tournaments Dota 2 international level. Yesterday they announced they would be hosting the ESL One Birmingham tournament from 29 to 31 May 2021.

This tournament will invite 12 teams from all over the world. Eight of them are invited teams, while the remaining four must be contested in the qualifiers in four different regions, one of which is Southeast Asia.

Along with the announcement, ESL also confirmed that The International 2021 and 2021 champions OG will be the first invited team to attend Birmingham. While the rest are still waiting for confirmation or official announcements.

In a year, ESL always holds several tournaments Dota 2 large all over the world. In 2021, for example, they held the ESL One series in four locations, namely Katowice, Mumbai, Birmingham, and Hamburg. Birmingham itself is a fairly new destination city because it was only used as an ESL One arena in 2021.

One more thing that is unique at ESL One Birmingham is that ESL seems to want to integrate their global and regional platforms. Before qualifying later, they will hold a tournament for the Southeast Asian team. The winner of the tournament, named the ESL SEA Championship, will receive prize money and a slot to the ESL One Birmingham Southeast Asia closed qualifier.
