Dota Pro Circuit 2021's First Major Is MDL Chengdu

After yesterday we learned about the first Minor Dota Pro Circuit tournament, we also immediately received news about the Major that was following it. The organizer is a familiar name to our ears, namely the MDL Chengdu Major.

As announced last week, this Major will bring a total of 16 teams from six different regions. They will compete for the prize pool US$1 million and most importantly a total of 15000 Dota Pro Circuit 2021 points.

This qualification alone will be combined with the Minor qualification. The two best teams in their respective regional qualifiers will get slots to the Minor, namely Dota Summit 11. Exceptions for Europe, CIS, and China will get three slots for the Major.

MDL itself is not brand foreign to Dota 2 esports including Dota Pro Circuit. For two consecutive seasons, they held Major tournaments for the Dota Pro Circuit, namely the MDL Changsha Major for the 2021-2021 season, then the MDL Disneyland Paris Major for the 2021-2021 season. This is not counting the small scale tournaments they have held.

The MDL Chengdu Major will be held from 16 to 24 November 2021. The Major and Minor qualifications will be held from 5 to 10 October 2021.
