GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The Esports Indonesia Board of DKI Jakarta Province (ESI DKI) held its inaugural online tournament, the Jakarta Esports Series on March 24 to June 13, 2021. The first session of the Jakarta Esports Series will feature seven types of games that are very popular with the public, namely PUBGM, Mobile Legends, Free Fire, Arena of Valor, PES, Tekken7, and DOTA 2.

“As ESI DKI’s vision is to build an esports ecosystem that will carry the name of DKI Jakarta province on the national level competition arena, then conducting competitions is one way to realize that vision,” said Major General TNI (Ret.) Neno Hamriono, Head of ESI DKI, at the Jakarta Esports Series virtual press conference, Thursday (25/3/2021).

It is hoped that the Jakarta Esports Series will not only be a tournament presented by ESI DKI to people who are enthusiastic about Esports tournaments, but a way to build an Esports ecosystem in which one of the biggest elements is athletes.

The first series of the Jakarta Esports Series is PUBGM which will take place on March 24 – 28, 2021. Currently, the first qualifying round of registered participants is underway and will be followed by a semifinal round which will be run for three rounds, and then a grand final round of five. round to determine the champions.

“We are very enthusiastic about holding the Jakarta Esports Series because it can be the first step to introduce the name of ESI DKI to the Esports community as well as provide education that the tournaments that will be held by ESI DKI are not just competitions, but also a place for recruiting Esports athletes. national,” said Aldino, Head of the DKI ESI Competition Division as well as Chairman of the Jakarta Esports Series Organizing Committee.

For the prizes, ESI DKI has provided a Prize pool of IDR 50,000,000 for seven game series and for the PUBGM series this time, ESI DKI provided a total prize pool of IDR 8,000,000 for the three winners.

The entire process from the qualifying round to the grandfinal round will be carried out online, but the public and especially the supporters of the competing teams, can watch the semifinals and grand finals live streaming via the ESI DKI Youtube channel from 27 – 28 March 2021.
