PUBG Mobile Becomes the Second Highest Earning Mobile Game in January 2021
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The continued growth of PUBG Mobile since its launch continues in early 2021. The game, owned by Krafton and published by Tencent, is the highest-grossing mobile game globally in 2021.
PUBG Mobile has also enjoyed continued growth so far in 2021. According to the recently published Sensor Tower report, PUBG is the second highest earning game for the month of January. Most of the revenue for the game (nearly 60 percent) came from China, where the game was released under the name Game For Peace.
The United States is the second highest revenue contributor for PUBG with 9.8 percent of total revenue. This game also occupies the second position in the Play Store and App Store revenue charts.
Honor of Kings, another game from Tencent, continues to dominate the charts and emerges as the best-selling game for January with a player spend of around 267.3 million USD. MiHoyo’s Genshin Impact is in fourth place, with revenues of 153.4 million USD for the month of January, with the largest player spending coming from Japan with around 33 percent. The US accounts for 17.2 percent of player spending, although the majority of gaming revenue (about 72 percent) still comes from Asia.
