Unique, Here's the MPL Invitational (MPLI) Bracket Lottery System

Reporting from ONE Esports, there is one unique thing about the bracket draw system at the MPL Invitational (MPLI) where the tournament will use the Champion’s Draft system.

Has anyone heard before what is Champion’s Draft? The point is in this system 4 champion teams (champions) from 4 different MPL regions can determine which teams are on their respective charts but randomly / take turns.

We take the example of RRQ Hoshi which is in the first bracket, they can determine the 4 opposing teams that are in their team bracket.

So for example RRQ Hoshi gets the first turn to choose their opponent.

Note that this selection uses the snake format (1, 2, 3, 4, 4, 3, 2, 1).

The following is a list of the 16 teams that will be able to be drafted:

Indonesia: Alter Ego, Aurafire, Bigetron, EVOS Legends, Geek Fam ID, Genlix Aerowolf, ONIC Esports,
Malaysia: Orange Louvre Esports,
Myanmar: Ronin Esports
Philippines: Aura PH, Blacklist International, Execration, Omega PH Esports, ONIC PH
Singapore: EVOS SG, Resurgence

RRQ Hoshi will first choose one team out of 16 to enter their pool bracket. After that it was Todak’s turn, continued to Bren Esports, to Burmese Ghouls.

After that, the order of the next team selection will be reversed, with Burmese Ghouls getting the first chance, followed by Bren Esports, Todak, to RRQ Hoshi, before everything reverses again until all teams have been selected into their respective pool brackets.

There are 4 teams that have passed, they are RRQ Hoshi (MPL ID Season 6) Champion, Bren eSports (MPL PH Season 6) Champion, Todak (MPL MY/SG Season 6) Champion and Burmese Ghouls (MPL MY Season 5) Champion.
