PUBG Mobile Raise Funds for Indonesian Veterans Via Tournaments

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Commemorating the 74th Indonesian Independence Day, PUBG Mobile held the PUBG Mobile 74 Merdeka Dinner, which is a series of tournaments and fundraising. This event will involve two professional PUBG Mobile teams, namely Bigetron and EVOS. In addition, more than 20 influencers and 512 teams of PUBG Mobile players will also participate. The targeted amount of donations through this activity is Rp. 74 million, which will be given to veterans through the Friends of Veterans Indonesia Foundation.

Quoting what President Soekarno once said “A great nation is a nation that appreciates the services of its heroes.” Currently, the government already has an honorary fund and allowances for the needs of veterans or their heirs. However, the amount of the allowance is still relatively small. After spending more than half of their life betting their lives defending the country, there are still many warriors who have not prospered in their old age, even just to live a decent life. It is ironic that we are now enjoying the convenience of being an independent nation but the veterans who fought for the independence of this country are not yet “independent”.

“It has been 74 years since Indonesia’s independence, it means that it has been 74 years for us to enjoy the results of the struggle of the heroes. As a form of our respect for veterans in Indonesia who have been willing to sacrifice and set an example of fighting spirit, patriotism and high nationalism, we would like to give a little appreciation that is expected to help fulfill the needs of veterans’ lives. Through this activity, we also hope that the younger generation of Indonesia will always remember that all the conveniences that we feel today would not be realized without the hard work of veterans.” said Gaga Li, Indonesia PUBG Mobile Country Manager.

Carrying the spirit of competition, nationalism, and celebration, the PUBG Mobile 74 Merdeka Dinner series of events consists of four activities, namely the Red and White Showdown, Influencer Grand Prix, Community Battle Cup, and Charity & Fundraising. The Merah Putih Showdown will feature two professional PUBG Mobile teams, namely Bigetron who will compete as the Red Team and EVOS who will compete as the White Team. While at the Influencer Grand Prix, 20 influencers will compete in the fun match with the concept of car racing on the Erangel map. Not to forget, for the PUBG Mobile player community, you can register your team to compete in the Community Battle Cup. Later, the 14 best teams will continue to the final round and compete with Bigetron (Red Team) and EVOS (White Team).

In addition to these tournaments, PUBG Mobile also held a fundraising event of up to Rp. 74 million for Indonesian veterans who were not yet prosperous. Collaborating with the Friends of the Indonesian Veterans Foundation and Kitabisa.com, PUBG Mobile is targeting a fundraising of IDR 30 million. This amount will be combined with 50% of the total prize pool in the Merah Putih Showdown, Influencer Grand Prix, and Community Battle Cup competitions of IDR 44 million. Thus, a total of IDR 74 million will be donated entirely to veterans through the Friends of the Indonesian Veterans Foundation in the form of cash and basic necessities.

Kriswiyanto Muliawan, Chairman of the Friends of the Indonesian Veterans Foundation said, “PUBG Mobile is a games the first to establish activities with the Friends of the Indonesian Veterans Foundation. We are proud and grateful to see young Indonesians, who in this case are represented by PUBG Mobile players and communities, willing to commemorate the struggle of heroes and think about the welfare of veterans who have fought for Indonesian independence. This form of love for the homeland needs to be maintained and always remembers the importance of protecting, nurturing, and defending the homeland. Hopefully this behavior can be applied in daily life by maintaining national unity and contributing to the development of the country in the future.”
