Hago Announces Winners of the Jawara Game Indonesia Competition

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – HAGO and a subsidiary of Vlight – an integrated internet communication service provider based in Singapore, have selected 5 winners from a total of 87 game creations submitted by participants for the Jawara Game Indonesia Competition. After being implemented for three weeks, HAGO and Vlight together with the support of the Tourism and Creative Economy Agency (BAPAREKRAF), the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (KOMINFO), and the Indonesian Game Association (AGI) have selected the winners from a large number of game submissions. different creativity, themes, difficulty levels, levels and objectives. All of the selected games have successfully passed the assessment criteria carefully and strictly by the judges.

To celebrate the winners’ success and show appreciation for those who have supported the Jawara Game Indonesia Competition, HAGO and Vlight held an awards ceremony and press conference at The Hermitage, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel Jakarta on 18 December 2021 where the 5 selected winners were proudly announced. . This exclusive award and conference was also attended by distinguished guests and speakers consisting of Mr. Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan as Director General of Informatics Applications of KOMINFO, Mr. Adam Ardisasmita as Vice President of AGI, and Mr. Joshua Qiao as Vice President of Vlight. As this competition is held in tandem with the rapidly growing popularity of online games in Indonesia, Joshua Qiao, Vice President of Vlight hopes to help local game developers showcase their talents. Joshua explained “Our goal is to improve the creative economy industry in Indonesia. With the resources we have, we hope to get local talent to develop. Hago also hopes that all young people in Indonesia with different dreams can channel their talents in whatever field they are engaged in.” The quality of this local talent is shown through the many games with high standards created by the participants with unique details and game ideas, added Joshua.

Mr. Hari Sungkari, Deputy for Infrastructure of BAPAREKRAF added, “We know now that the Indonesian game market is number 16 in the world, with a market size of US$880 million in 2021. However, the role of Indonesian game developers has only reached 5%. This is our challenge together. Therefore, Bekraf is very committed to helping local game developers and publishers to increase the market share for local game developers to 10%.”

Along with the game industry which has attracted a lot of interest from the Indonesian people, Semuel Abrijani Pangerapan as the Directorate General of Information Applications of KOMINFO fully supports this kind of competition which can help explore local talents who do not have a place to show their work. “Through this event, HAGO has helped to hone the potential of local creators and talents engaged in the creative economy. As we all know, Indonesia’s main capital is diversity that allows us to create the latest products, creations, and innovations.
