OJK Guarantees Winda Earl's Rp 20 Billion Savings at Maybank Returns, As Long As

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) has fully handed over the case of the loss of customer funds of PT Bank Maybank Indonesia Tbk to law enforcement. So far, both parties, both Maybank and the account holder who is also an Esports athlete from the EVOS team, Winda Lunardi alias Winda Earl, have reported this case to the police.

“We have seen, please wait. It’s not good to precede law enforcement because Maybank itself has reported it and customers have reported it,” said Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Wimboh Santoso, during a working meeting with Commission XI DPR in Jakarta, Thursday (12/11/2021) as quoted by GAMEFINITY.ID from Merdeka.com.

Wimboh also asked his party to be careful in giving statements regarding this case. Moreover, he did not want to precede the law enforcers who were handling the case. OJK also guarantees that this case will be resolved objectively and transparently. Even the OJK guarantees that the customer’s money that is claimed to have disappeared worth Rp 22 billion can still be returned if the customer is found not guilty.

“There is something but we believe it will be objective and transparent. If the customer is innocent, the money will definitely come back,” explained Wimboh.

Meanwhile, the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police has named the Head of the Maybank Cipulir Branch, Albert (A) as a suspect in the case of the disappearance of the Rp 22 billion savings belonging to Winda Earl and his mother Floletta. As quoted from Detik.com, the Head of Public Relations Division of the National Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Awi Setiyono, revealed the police’s obstacles in examining Albert.

“This morning I told investigators how the Maybank case is progressing. This police, especially the Criminal Investigation Unit, in examining suspects, must have permission from the chairman of the Tangerang District Court, because the person concerned is currently in the process of hearing a previous case at the Polda Metro Jaya.”

Awi said that currently the investigation team is still coordinating with the Tangerang District Court so that they can examine Albert next week. Awi said the investigative team was still developing and checking the results of the investigation. According to Awi, the perpetrator is now in the second phase of the Tangerang District Attorney’s custody. The status of the case is already P21.

“Because the trial process is indeed, we are still coordinating with the PN. Hopefully next week we will have the opportunity, there is permission from the chairman of the District Court to examine the suspect. Because we are still developing this all developments on the results of the investigation, the results are checked there, to the suspect.”
