Not All Gamers Get Cyberpunk 2077 Refunds from PlayStation and Xbox

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Several Cyberpunk 2077 refund requests have reportedly been turned down by PlayStation and Xbox, although developer CD Projekt Red stated Monday (12/14/2021) that disappointed gamers can get their money back. Following its release on December 10, Cyberpunk 2077’s performance on the PS4 and Xbox One base consoles has been heavily criticized by fans and the media, with Digital Foundry analysis calling the game’s performance “unacceptable”.

Reports emerged over the weekend that some gamers unhappy with the product had managed to claim a PS4 refund on the basis that the game was faulty in its current state. However, other gamers say they have not managed to get their money back, because they have played the game. title.

In a statement issued on Monday, developer CD Projekt Red acknowledged it “should have paid more attention” to improving game performance on these last-gen consoles. CDPR promises to improve the overall experience through future updates that are scheduled for release in January and February.

“We’d appreciate it if you gave us a chance, but if you’re not happy with the game on your console and don’t want to wait for an update, you can choose to return your copy. For copies purchased digitally, please use the respective PSN or Xbox refund system.”

Some users reported their refund requests were rejected by PlayStation and Xbox. In some cases, when users start playing a game, PlayStation support representatives have advised them to wait for the game update that is planned for CDPR release.

Sony introduced a new PlayStation Store refund policy last year that gives users 14 days to cancel PS4 digital purchases. Requirements include preorder content, as well as released games and DLC that players have not yet started downloading or streaming. If a user has already started downloading or streaming purchased content, Sony says they are not eligible for a refund unless the content is “broken”.

Meanwhile, Xbox’s refund requirements for digital games state that all sales of digital game products are considered final, unless there are certain circumstances taking into account factors such as time from date of purchase, time from release, and use of the product. In a statement, Xbox said the Cyberpunk 2077 refund mechanism must comply with Xbox’s terms and conditions.
