Bekasi City Esports Athlete Selection Grand Final

GAMEFINITY.ID, Bekasi – The Bekasi City Esports (ESI Bekasi) Branch Manager (Pengcab) held a tournament of three divisions at once, namely Mobile Legends, Free Fire, and PUBG Mobile. The tournament with a total prize of Rp. 30 million is part of an effort to capture and select gamers in Bekasi City to become fostered athletes.

Head of Bekasi City Esports Pengcab Ahmad Faisyal Hermawan said, the tournament, which was held for five days from 8 to 12 February 2021, was part of Pengcab’s efforts to develop and advance esports positively in Bekasi City. He hopes that the holding of this tournament can create new talents for esports athletes, so that in the future ESI Bekasi can become a forum for the gamer community spread across Bekasi City.

Free Fire

Since registration opened at the end of last January, hundreds of teams of Mobile Legends, Free Fire, and PUBG players have registered immediately. However, because the purpose of this tournament is to select prospective athletes, the teams that register are subject to terms and conditions, starting with age restrictions as well as domicile. Netted 141 teams that competed online.

“Since Esports was confirmed as a member of KONI’s sports (Cabor), I am committed to developing gamers’ sports so that they can bring achievements and pride to the City of Bekasi, both on the national and international levels,” said Faisyal.

Mobile Legends

The tournament will be held online considering the current state of the COVID-19 pandemic. The match will be streamed via the channel Youtube Bekasi City Esports.
