The 2021 ESL One New York Champion

FaZe Clan won ESL One New York 2021 and they did it by dominating the grand final match. Team Counter Strike Global Offensive FaZe thrashed North American favorites Team Liquid 3-0, and they won the $125,000 prize. The maps played in the CS GO grand final are Inferno, Overpass, and Mirage.

Inferno Map Match

The match on map one Inferno saw FaZe’s massacre over Team Liquid. They beat the North American team with a score of 15-0 in the first half. Finn “karrigan” Andersen kept up a good defense which made FaZe an easy win on the Inferno map.

Match Overpass Peta Map

Team Liquid CS GO offers much better combat on the Counter Strike Global Offensive Overpass map. Their successful Terrorist side was a big component in their late-game comeback, but a beautiful play from Nikola “NiKo” Kovac ended the game on the map 16-14 for FaZe. NiKo is also a top frag server with 26 kills.

Match Mirage Map

FaZe’s defense and attack abilities were too strong for Team Liquid who showed a slightly improved performance, and FaZe showed their superiority on the Counter-Terrorist side on the Mirage 3 map. In matches on this map, NiKo shares the frag top with HREvard “Rain” Nygaard with 23 kills and dealing average damage per spin stats at 125.8 and 110.7, respectively.

Improved Performance

After completing a grueling group stage at the PGL Major Krakow in July, FaZe is back with two new stars labeled as stars. They are Olof “olofmeister” Kajbjer and Ladislav “GuardiaN” Ladislav. Both of them showed great performances, especially GuardiaN who won for the second time in the ESL One New York international tournament. His first win, he won last year under the big name Natus Vincere.

NiKo easily became FaZe’s MVP because of his frag kills reaching 22 kills per map, and also because of his 111.5 ADR stats in the grand final. With their victory at ESL One New York, FaZe have again become one of the most feared teams in Counter-Strike.
