Son Goku's 9 Techniques & Kicks Apart from Super Saiyan
The Dragon Ball series will always leave a deep impression on its fans, especially Son Goku as a Saiyan nation. This time, Kabar Games will discuss what techniques or moves are owned by Son Goku in addition to the well-known Super Saiyan transformation.
Some of that ability Son Goku got from the teaching of a teacher. Combined with the power of Super Saiyan, these techniques also develop into weapons that can save the universe. The following is a list of Son Goku’s fighting techniques and moves in addition to his Super Saiyan transformation.
Kamehameha
Son Goku first learned of the Kamehameha technique after witnessing Master Roshi use it to save Ox King and Chi-Chi’s castle from destruction (but ended up destroying it, along with a nearby mountain). Throughout the Dragon Ball series, Goku continues to master the Kamehameha and use it in almost every battle during Dragon Ball Z, Dragon Ball Super and Dragon Ball GT.
This move is so legendary that 90s children who are adults still often imitate the movements, while imagining them emitting real kamehameha energy from their palms, are you also included?
Kaioken
Goku learns the Kaioken technique after his death against Raditz while training with King Kai. Son Goku used this technique many times before he reached the Super Saiyan level. Kaioken is a technique that can increase the user’s strength, defense, agility and speed many times depending on the user’s wishes.
Son Goku himself can actually combine Kaioken techniques with his Super Saiyan form (called Super Kaioken). But Goku never tried this while he was alive, because using Kaioken moves with Super Saiyan will cause death. But he has practiced using this move with his Super Saiyan Blue form. He used a new version of the Kaioken technique against Hit and Zamasu as well as several others.
Spirit Bomb
Spirit Bomb is one of Son Goku’s most powerful techniques, taught to him by King Kai during his training in after life for the upcoming battles against Vegeta and Nappa. Goku uses the Spirit Bomb technique several times, most notably against Frieza and Kid Buu, and most recently against Jiren in the Tournament of Power to no avail.
Instant Transmission
Son Goku learned this Instant Transmission technique on Planet Yardrat after his battle with Frieza. The Instant Transmission technique allowed him to teleport to any location as long as he could find an energy source to live in. But there was a bit of controversy in the early Dragon Ball Super series, Yo Son Goku, he teleported to the radish field without sensing anyone.
Goku often uses this Instant Transmission technique throughout the Dragon Ball series and this move is one of his most valuable yet dangerous abilities, remember how Cell blew himself up when he knew he was going to lose to Gohan? Goku then uses this technique and teleports to Planet King Kai, but Cell is still alive then he cheats on this move and returns to Earth again.
Dragon Fist
Goku used this technique on Hirudegarn to finish him off in the 13th Dragon Ball Z film. He also uses this in Dragon Ball GT against Super 17 as well as Eis Shenron and Omega Shenron, though the latter regenerates. This Dragon Fist move is similar to the Penetrate technique, the move that Son Goku used to destroy King Piccolo in Dragon Ball when he was a child.
Evil Containment Wave

Son Goku decides to have Master Roshi teach him the Evil Spirit Retaining Wave technique to defeat Future Zamasu, as his Super Saiyan Blue transformation still doesn’t seem to be able to defeat him. In the anime, Goku decides to learn it after hearing about this technique from Piccolo and how Master Roshi tried to use it to defeat King Piccolo.
Goku practiced how to use the Evil Spirit Retaining Wave technique on the Turtle several times before he was able to properly aim it into the sealing vessel. Since Goku has much more power than Roshi, he can use it multiple times on the Turtle without dying or even weakening its power.
The benefit of this Evil Spirit Retaining Wave technique is that it can allow its user to defeat opponents they cannot or will not kill. In the anime, Son Goku never got the chance to use this technique against Future Zamasu, so Future Trunks had to learn and use it against Future Zamasu.
In the manga, Son Goku transforms into Super Saiyan Blue and then uses the Evil Containment Wave technique to seal Future Zamasu. However, due to carrying the wrong sealing tag from Master Roshi, Future Zamasu was finally able to break free.
Hakai
In the Dragon Ball Super manga, Goku reveals that he is capable of performing Hakai moves after seeing Beerus use them in several places. However, the use of this technique requires Goku to put all the Blue aura into his hand and release it at once, where this move can only be used once and then will make him run out of energy.
Goku’s Hakai technique is as powerful as Beerus’s Hakai, but takes longer to work. The attack almost and would have killed Fused Zamasu, had he not used Future Mai as a hostage.
Ultra Instinct
When using the Ultra Instinct technique “Omen”, Goku’s physical and mental strength is multiplied, thus not only giving him increased fighting skills, but also giving him access to the Ultra Instinct ability, which allows him to instinctively evade attacks.
There is a lot of debate about the Ultra Instinct technique, whether it is included in the fighting ability technique or another form of Son Goku’s Super Saiyan which is much more advanced. If you look at the explanations of Whis and Beerus, it is clear that Ultra Instinct is a technique and not a new form of Super Saiyan.
Oozaru
Like all Saiyans, Son Goku can transform into a Great Ape or Great Ape (Oozaru) when he sees the full moon if he still has his tail, which makes this technique impossible to perform at will. As Oozaru, Son Goku’s dormant evil Saiyan traits reappear and he becomes greedy and super ruthless.
Since his tail was permanently removed in the main series by Kami when restoring the moon, this transformation was never carried out by Goku until Dragon Ball GT (where Oozaru is shown very briefly before his full transition to the Golden Great Ape).
So, those were some of the techniques and moves used by Son Goku in fighting besides the Super Saiyan transformation that we have known so far. Don’t hesitate to leave a comment if there are other techniques that we have missed! Stay tuned for the latest and updated news about games and anime only at Kabar Games!
