ESL One Hamburg Day Four Recap: NA Drop Out of Tournament

Evil Geniuses started the fourth day of ESL One Hamburg 2021 with a massacre in the first half lower bracket. Unfortunately, their journey had to stop in the next round. Meanwhile Misery and Pain Gaming managed to beat Forward Gaming, knocking out two teams from North America from the tournament.

Facing Complexity, Evil Geniuses opened the match with a win thanks to Cr1t’s excellent performance with Earthshaker. Then in games next Evil Geniuses made statement by defeating Complexity in just 16 minutes. This clearly makes Evil Geniuses even more feared and their match against Team Secret in the next round becomes even more awaited.

While on the other side lower bracket, Forward Gaming had to deal with Pain Gaming. Forward Gaming opens games first with draft and early game which is very good. But Pain Gaming is able to make various play to turn things around and win games first.

Games both went much better for Pain Gaming. Dominant throughout early game, Pain Gaming snatch games second effortlessly, knocking Forward Gaming out of the tournament.

The last match on the third day was between Evil Geniuses and Team Secret. Against a team stronger than Complexity, Evil Geniuses proved to be a bit of a hassle. On games First, Team Secret managed to silence Arteezy who used Drow Ranger, making Evil Geniuses struggle throughout the match and lose.

On games second, Evil Geniuses initially excelled throughout early and mid game. But some team fight made Team Secret managed to turn things around to take barracks.

Evil Geniuses defended as best they could, forcing the Terrorblade-wielding Nisha to buy the Divine Rapier. Evil Geniuses managed to snatch the Divine Rapier for Arteezy and tried to take Roshan. Unfortunately, Team Secret managed to win team fight in the Roshan area and forced the Evil Geniuses to surrender.
