Epicenter XL Format and Groups: PSG.LGD and Mineski One Group
Major Tournament Dota 2 Epicenter XL will start on April 27. Given that there are only four Pro Circuit tournaments left after that, the points from these tournaments are certainly very important for the participating teams. Knowing that, Epicenter also seems to make their format more intense and last longer.
The main Epicenter XL tournament is divided into two phases, namely the group phase and also the double elimination playoff. A total of 12 participating teams will be divided into two different groups. Each team in the same group will compete in the format round robin best of three.
The two best teams from each group will qualify for the playoff upper bracket. Meanwhile, the two third- and fourth-placed teams from each group will qualify for the lower bracket playoffs. The bottom two teams of each group will be disqualified from the tournament.
All matches in round playoffs played with the format best of three except the first two rounds lower bracket (best of one) as well as grand final (best of five).
The following is the group division for the 12 teams that will compete:
The division of this group is fairly even. Group A has two finalists of DAC 2021, Mineski and PSG.LGD, will meet again. While Virtus.Pro will be seeded in group B seeing their performance in the previous tournament.
Some of the teams that are also interesting to watch in this tournament are Team Liquid, Team Secret, and Newbee. During DAC 2021, both Newbee and Team Secret got quite disappointing results. Meanwhile, Team Liquid also had to settle for being in the top six.
Complexity will be making their debut after splitting up with Kyle. But to this day they have not announced who will fill the position. OG who have yet to find a replacement for Resolut1on have also not announced whether they will continue to play with coach them or will enter a new player.
Who do you think will come out as champion and solidify his position in the Pro Circuit? Will the top teams guarantee their ticket to The International 2021, or will there be a new team that skyrockets and makes the race for the top eight Pro Circuit even more exciting?
