Dota Summit 9 Format, 'Warm Up' Tournament Before The International 2021
Three weeks before The International 2021 tournament starts, we will be treated to Dota Summit 9. This will be a warm-up for fans Dota 2 who wants to see their favorite team back in the game. For the participating teams, this is an opportunity to ‘practice’ in a more competitive environment.
Dota Summit 9 will present six teams, namely Evil Geniuses, VGJ.Storm, Fnatic, OpTic Gaming, Pain Gaming, and Let’s Do It (Ex-Kinguin). Except for Let’s Do It, all of them are teams that will be participating in The International 2021 in August.
The format in this tournament is quite simple. All teams will be put into one group and compete in the format round robin best of two. The top two teams qualify for the upper bracket in the round playoffs, while the remaining four must play from lower bracket. All matches playoffs is best of three, except final best of five.
This is definitely a good benchmark for each team to see how strong they are. Teams like Evil Geniuses clearly want to add to their experience in a competitive environment with roster new them. Meanwhile Pain Gaming also wanted to test their strength after recruiting Misery as a coach.
Who do you think will come out victorious in this tournament?
