Mobile Legends Will Hold Tournaments in 2021
After successfully holding the grand Mobile Legends competition entitled Mobile Legends: Bang Bang South East Asia Cup 2021 (MSC 2021) at JIEXPO Kemayoran, Jakarta in July 2021, Moonton Shanghai Technology as the developer of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), revealed that they will again hold various tournaments in 2021. However, this time, Moonton will expand the level of the tournament to a global scale.
So far, MSC is the tournament with the highest level that only brings together the best teams from Southeast Asia. Wanting to advance to class, Moonton will also hold a tournament on a wider scale through the MLBB World Tournament which will be participated by the best teams from Asia, Europe, and North America.
However, Moonton has not divulged any other information regarding the details regarding the implementation time and location of the tournament. For now, what is known from the MLBB World Tournament is that only MPL Season 3 winners in each region can participate in this tournament.
At the local level, Moonton is also holding the Mobile Legends Professional League (MPL) which is held regularly in each season. Moonton has also determined the play dates for MPL Indonesia Season 3 and 4. Season 3 will run from January to March 2021, while season 4 will start in July 2021 and end in October 2021.
As for the local level, there are two tournaments that will be held in 2021, namely the City Tournament and College Tournament. These two tournaments were held with the aim of bringing the Mobile Legends game closer to the people of Indonesia, including educating about eSports and building its community.
The City Tournament will be held in eight major cities, namely Bandung, Medan, Palembang, Bekasi, Surabaya, Makassar, Semarang and Jakarta. Later, the finalists from these cities will compete in the Final City Tournament which will be held in Jakarta.
Meanwhile, the Collage Tournament is planned to be held in 12 major campuses in Indonesia. However, Moonton has not been able to say which campus will hold the tournament because it is still in the stage of further talks.
“College Tournament can’t talk much because we are still planning it. I can only tell you that it will be on the University of Indonesia campus,” said Luis Andre, Manager of e-Sports Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.
