It's full of action! The latest PUBG-inspired film "Biubiubiu" in China is revealed!

Recently, advance Krafton exposing them will start an animation project for PUBG produced by the collaboration of Adi Shankar. The latest, with the increasing hype for the mobile version of this famous battle royale game, Huawen Picture Group from China have taken advantage of this popularity by Biubiubiu an action film with esports streamers wrestling with life.

Inspired by the big PUBG event, a player and streamer forms a victorious Esports team with old friends to win the championship in an attempt to get close to his original son. What’s interesting about Biubiubiu is the way the film depicts the action in the game. Rather than relying solely on CGI, fictional game scenes are expressed through live action sequences that provide an interesting element of realism.

According to Daniel Ahmad, this film is being sold as the “first battle royale esports film” and this film is about “down and out streamers” who form an esports team with old friends. Also, apparently, this film covers the battle for custody of a child as well, for some reason. So we can see between the morals of this story and indeed it also gives the appearance that esports and gaming are not only focused on the younger group.

In the trailer, you can see how the film handles video game-like action. Instead of using CGI animation or in-game engines for these parts, the film relies on live-action sequences aimed at depicting the gameplay that took place during the esports world. And the action seen in this part of the film seems to be solid!

It’s not impossible to ignore this film because it looks a lot like PUBG, which is not surprising considering how popular this game is in China under the name Peacekeeper Elite and PUBG Mobile worldwide. Although it’s clear for now that this film has nothing to do with PUBG or Peacekeeper Elite or something like that, but based on this poster, it’s quite clear where the creators of this film drew battle royale inspiration to reality.

Biubiubiu launched exclusively in China on August 6th via the Youku video hosting service.
