2 indie games with interesting cartoon graphics for you to get in this week's Epic Free Game!

Two more FREE indie games for you to get at Epic Game Store this week! You can start to get the game Void Bastards and Yooka-Laylee starting today until 27 Aug 2021 on the Epic Games Store page. Even though last week they only gave Galaxy Rebel just for free games, but this time they are back with two interesting games for you to get.

Void Bastards and Yooka-Laylee are high profile indie games for the Epic Games Store, where we can see Epic already starting to bring back indie titles to be promoted in Epic Free Game events. They’ve released some great indie games that you can get for free, and these are part of the “Discover: Free games” initiative since 2021.

Yooka-Laylee

Yooka-Laylee is a platform games published by Team17 in 2021 for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It was awakened by the troops Playtonic Games, who is a former important employee of the company Rare who brought Banjo-Kazooie series for Nintendo 64 on 20 years ago. This game tells the story of an iguana named Yooka, and a bat named Laylee on their quest to get a magical book from an evil company.

Yooka Laylee’s gameplay brings players to work together to explore their world, collect stuff, solve the puzzle and defeat the enemy. During the quest, players need to complete challenges to collect “Pagies”, i.e. gold book pages as the game’s main currency. Yooka and Laylee can perform various abilities, such as Sonar Blast, Tongue Whipping, Sky Soaring and temporary power like Fart Bubble to breathe in water. Most of these abilities use power meter filled with collect moths.

Void Bastards

Void Bastards brings sci-fi first-person shooter and roguelike genre built by Blue Manchu studio from Australia and published by Humble Bundle. It launched on May 28, 2021 for PC and Xbox One, and has a port for Switch and PS4 issued on May 7, 2021. This game tells about aid from the Sargasso Nebula the dangerous ones had boarded and escaped on a spaceship. Void Bastards received lots of positive reviews from critics because comic book art style, dark humor and gameplay which is interesting. However, there are those who criticize the story of this game as less cheerful and has no original play value like other indie games.
