The Aceh Joint Team Starts Raiding Students Playing Online Games

The raid was carried out on Monday (7/12/2021) night with the target of operating students who were still hanging around playing “chips” and dimly lit cafes in the pasie luah beach area of ​​Calang city.

Previously, the Aceh Ulama Consultative Council (MPU) issued a sticker that was forbidden to play online gambling games that was affixed to coffee shops (warkop) in the province. Since 2021, the Aceh District Ulama Consultative Council has actually issued an unlawful fatwa for PUBG players.

The Head of Krueng Sabee Muslim A Rais explained that the raid carried out by the team was also a follow-up to the appeal made by his party and other forkopimcam. He said that the agenda is a form of seriousness in eradicating all actions that violate Islamic law, especially the influence of online games for students.

Meanwhile, the deputy regent of Aceh Jaya, Tgm Yusri Sofyan, who went directly to lead the raid, explained that this was done in order to instruct students who were starting to be negligent due to the influence of the online game. Teungku Yusri said that at this initial stage, violators were given a warning when the operation was caught, but if they were found the second time, they would be given a sanction.

“Our goal is to enforce Islamic law in Aceh Jaya, including dimly lit stalls that are prone to immorality and students who start neglecting online games until midnight. For now, we are still giving warnings to our children, but if in the future we find them again, we will just transport them, including calling their parents,” said Yusri Sofyan, who is also the head of the ma’ruf nahi mungkar charity team, quoted from ANTARA.

He also said that for the first time this was only carried out in the Krueng Sabee sub-district, but in the future his party will also carry out to other sub-districts in Aceh Jaya Regency. The raid was led directly by the Deputy Regent of Aceh Jaya together with members of the Aceh Jaya MPU, the Islamic Shari’a Service, the TNI/Polri and the Satpol PP/WH Aceh Jaya.
