Super Mario 3D World Bowsers Fury Gets Positive Reviews on Famitsu

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The first Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury review has been published on Famitsu. The Japanese magazine praised the new mode and online play of the game that will be released for the Nintendo Switch. As reported by Ryokutya2089 quoted from VGC, Famitsu gave it a score of 36 out of 40, with four reviewers giving game scores of nine, nine, eight, and ten. Although fairly high, this score is actually lower than the original version of the Wii U game (38/40) which was released in 2021.

The Famitsu Super Mario 3D World review for Switch called Bowser’s new Fury mode “a lot of fun”. They were impressed by the challenge and replayability offered by the standalone add-on. The review also highlighted online play and said it worked well in the original 3D World game.

Famitsu previously rated Super Mario Odyssey 39/40 (10/10/10/9), Super Mario 3D World for Wii U 38/40 (10/10/9/9), Super Mario Galaxy 38/40 (10/10 /9/9) and Super Mario Galaxy 2 – 37/40 (10/9/9/9). Planned for release on February 12, 2021, Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury features online and offline co-op, as well as a new standalone adventure that came with the original Wii U game.

Bowser’s Fury is described by Nintendo as a “short but action-packed” free-roaming adventure. There Mario visits Lapcat Lake, a world where everything is cat-themed and Bowser goes on a rampage again. Players must team up with Bowser Jr, who can be controlled via a second player in co-op and travel to various islands to collect Cat Shines, in order to rekindle the lighthouse and clear dark terrain.

This Wii U port game comes as part of the celebration of Super Mario’s 35th birthday. In addition to 3D All-Stars (a collection of classic 3D Mario games), Nintendo has released several additional Mario games for the Switch.
