Secretlab has launched a gaming chair with 4 times more durable leather
Singapore-based gaming chair manufacturer Secretlab has re-launched their latest model, Secretlab 2021, which has been enhanced from the previous series by featuring new features that deserve to be upgraded.
For starters, Secretlab 2021 comes with Polyurethane (PU) leather which they call Prime 2.0 PU Leather. They claim that this material is four times more durable than the regular PU leather that is widely used in today’s gaming chair market.
In order to prove that the material is better, Secretlab sent a new PU leather to be tested by the Singaporean agent A*STAR. This test involves immersing yourself in artificial sweat and placing it in a room with a certain level of humidity, before being rubbed 200,000 times which is also called the Martindale Abrasion Test.
Other improvements Secretlab made include redesigned metal arms that feel much sturdier and flush buttons on the armrests.
The cool foam inside the seat has also been redesigned with a new formula and manufacturing process that makes it more comfortable to sit on for long periods of time.
The OneEsports Singapore team has been trying this new seat for a day or so. There’s not a big difference, though the new leather does feel smoother and the cooling gel head pillow is much more comfortable, especially if you’re lying down.
The Secretlab 2021 series is now available in Omega and Titan versions, priced at USD 359 (Rp 5.2 million) and USD 399 (Rp 5.8 million, respectively).
The SoftWeave version of the Secretlab 2021 chair is also available and retails for USD 379 (Rp 5.5 million) and USD 429 (Rp 6.2 million). But keep in mind that prices will vary from country to country.
Secretlab also extended the warranty period from two years to five years for mechanical problems (wear and tear of PU leather and SoftWeave fabric not included).
