PON XX Papua 2021 Esports Exhibition Ends, Strength Between Regions is Even

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – The 2021 Papua PON XX Esports Exhibition, which is a new milestone for the Indonesian esports world, is officially closed today.

The closing ceremony was lively and attended by, among others, the Board of Trustees of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI) Bambang Soesatyo, Chairman of the Central KONI Marciano Noerman, Chairman of the Daily PBESI Commissioner General Drs. Bambang Sunarwibowo, SH, M. Hum, and the Governor of Papua as well as the General Chair of PB PON Lukas Enembe.

For a week this event was held by implementing a bubble system and strict health protocols.

Nevertheless, a number of interesting achievements still emerged from the event which was packaged with this sportaintment concept.

Match after match, which competed in four game category numbers, namely Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB), Free Fire, PUBG Mobile and PES 2021, as well as a friendly game created by the Lokapala nation, was exciting and competitive.

Secretary General of the Indonesian Esports Executive Board (PBESI Secretary General) Frengky Ong said, “The strength of esports athletes competing in the XX Papua 2021 PON Esports Exhibition is very evenly distributed.

There is no single province that appears dominant. This confirms that coaching in all provinces in Indonesia has been going well and there are no gaps.”

Frengky said, with the more serious development carried out by PBESI and ESI in provinces and districts/cities, and supported by the increasingly even distribution of broadband networks which the government continues to expand its reach, PBESI is optimistic that it will be able to attract more potential esports talents who are ready to make a name for themselves. Indonesia on the international stage.

The success of the PON XX Papua 2021 Esports Exhibition according to Frengky has also aroused public attention about the potential of this electronic sport in helping to drive sportainment and sport-tourism activities that have economic value.

“We received a positive response from the people of Papua and other provinces who were encouraged to collaborate with ESI administrators at the regional level to hold esports tournaments after they witnessed the excitement, creativity, and positive values ​​presented by national esports people at the event. Even Strength, Strict Competition

At this 2021 PON XX Papua Esports Exhibition, gold medals in four competition categories were divided equally by four provinces.

In the MLBB category, after going through a tough match against the Central Java Team in the grand final, the West Kalimantan team consisting of Alrazali, Frengki, Kevin Almeyda, Novianda Kusuma Prapanca and Riandy, won the gold medal.

Central Java won silver and North Sulawesi won bronze.

In the PUBG Mobile category, the DKI Jakarta Team consisting of Eksa, Jason, Bagas and Bagus managed to win a gold medal after eliminating the West Papua Team who had to settle for the silver medal and North Sulawesi as the bronze medal winner.

Meanwhile, for the Free Fire category, the Southeast Sulawesi team won the gold medal, which consisted of Rafli Aidil Fitrah, Muhammad Fikri Alief, Sapri Danmas Budiana, and Muhammad Tauhid.

The Bengkulu Team won the silver medal and the bronze medal for this category was won by the Maluku Team.

In the PES 2021 category, West Java’s favorite team, strengthened by Rizky Faidan and Ferry Purnama Gumilang, won a gold medal after defeating another strong team, namely the South Kalimantan Team, who had to settle for a silver medal. The bronze in this category was won by the Gorontalo Team.

Jeet Esports Wins Lokapala Friendly Match

Even though it was held as a friendly match, the local game competition created by the Lokapala people deserves to be a separate note.

The enthusiasm to promote games created by the nation’s children on prestigious national and global stages is expected to encourage the rise of the homeland game development industry.

Not inferior to the main categories, the friendly local game Lokapala also received enthusiastic responses from the public.

In this category, the Jeet Esports Team consisting of Dicxon Fernando, Dzikri Adinulloh, Gurbinder Singh, Vesa Herawan and Yohanes Ibrahim managed to become the champion after beating the Dewa United Team which was strengthened by Denis Haris Prayogo, Indrawan Prasetyo, Mokhamad Yusuf Afrizal, Muhammad Iqbal Bekasi and Roger Jeremy in second place and the Capital Esports team consisting of Arbi Yusuf Ramanda, Fazri Rohi Dedza, I Kadek Arya Wiratama, Li men, and R Asnawi in third.
