Payday 3 Will Use Unreal Engine

But finally Overkill officially opened their voice regarding the issue and confirmed that it was developing the Payday 3 game. The information was conveyed directly through the official Twitter account @PAYDAYGame.
Through his tweet, Overkill leaked information regarding the progress of Payday 3 which is currently still in the design phase. And what’s even more interesting is that Payday 3 will use the Unreal Engine, which is capable of producing high-quality graphics.

As reported by GAMEFINITY.ID from the IGN page (6/10/2021), the switch to the use of the Unreal Engine is quite important considering that Payday 2 still uses the game engine from Overkill. By using Unreal Engine 5, maybe we can see the Payday game even more impressive.
