Not Released yet, EA and Respawn Collaborate on Esports for Apex Legends Mobile
GAMEFINITY.ID, Purworejo – The announcement of the presence of Apex Legends Mobile which then became good news for mobile gamers. The reason is, their long wait has finally paid off with the presence of Apex Legends on the mobile platform.
However, currently Apex Legends Mobile has just entered a closed beta period and there is no definite release date yet. Even so, now EA and Respawn have started working together to build the esports scene for Apex Legends Mobile.
This was confirmed by Todd Sitrin as SVP and General Manager of Competitive Gaming EA in his interview with The Esports Observer a few days ago.
According to him, EA really believes in mobile game Esports, which is experiencing very fast growth. Especially in the Asian market, where the mobile game market is very high. This makes EA interested in expanding its market in the Asian region. And now it’s proven by EA which started the closed beta of this game in India and the Philippines.
For this reason, EA makes mobile games one of the important focuses of EA’s portfolio. And in Apex Legends Mobile, EA has a close-knit Respawn to figure this out.
Apex Legends itself has a very large global playerbase. It was recorded that last April 2021 reached 100 million players. In addition, the realm of Esports is also growing rapidly.
With the current huge playerbase not to mention if Apex Legends Mobile releases later, it’s no wonder why EA and Respawn are very interested in building the Esports scene for the mobile version later.
