NCore Games Prepares FAU-G as a Substitute for India's Banned PUBG

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – PUBG Mobile officially stopped its operations in India starting Friday (30/10/2021) following an order from the country’s government. The game, made by Tencent, was one of 118 Chinese apps banned by India’s Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology in September. Other banned apps include Baidu, WeChat Work and TikTok. The ban is in the aftermath of a conflict between the Chinese and Indian militaries over the Himalayan border dispute.

The Indian government is concerned about privacy and national security regarding the use of Chinese companies’ apps. Tencent Games itself in an official statement as quoted from the official PUBG Mobile website claims to always prioritize protecting user data and complying with local government laws.

“All user gaming information is processed transparently as disclosed in our privacy policy. We deeply regret this decision, and sincerely thank you for your support and love for PUBG Mobile in India.”

Shortly after the proposed ban on PUBG, Bangalore-based studio nCore Games announced it would launch a similar battle royale game called Fearless And United – Guards or FAU: G. Uniquely, the game will feature content based on India’s real-world battles with the Chinese military in the Valley. Galwan. The release date of this game has not yet been determined, but nCore Games’ official twitter says FAU-G will be launched this November.

PUBG itself was under the spotlight in Indonesia, after 2021, the Aceh District Ulama Consultative Assembly issued a fatwa forbidden for PUBG players. Not long ago, the Chairman of the Ulama Consultative Council of West Aceh Regency, Teungku Abdurrani Adian, said that the violators of the fatwa deserved a caning sentence.
