Microsoft and Apple Collaborate to Create Xbox Series X Controller for iPhone

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Microsoft and Apple are reportedly working on a new Xbox Series X and Series S controller that will work on iPhone and iPad. Currently, the new controller is not officially supported for use on iOS or iPadOS, but Apple says it will be possible in a future update.

“Microsoft and Apple are working together to bring Xbox Series X controller compatibility to customers in a future update,” said The Verge.

This isn’t the first time the two companies have worked to improve Xbox controller support. Apple worked with Microsoft to add support for the Xbox Elite 2 controller and Xbox Adaptive Controller to iOS 14 earlier this year. However, that support comes almost a year after the release of the Elite 2. It’s not clear how long it will take Apple to release the new X Series controllers, but it’s thought that DualSense support may be coming soon.

Apple Insider recently reported that iOS 14.3, which is currently in beta appears to include support for the PS5 controller, DualSense. Apple hasn’t mentioned DualSense in its support notes yet, but it’s not expected to take a year to include support for DualSense and the latest Xbox controllers.
