Final Fantasy VII Will Have a Battle Royale Prequel

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Square Enix has announced a battle royale spinoff for Final Fantasy 7, called The First Soldier. This mobile game will be released on iOS and Android later this year. This last-person-standing multiplayer game is set 30 years in Midgar before the events of the original Final Fantasy 7.

As an army candidate, the player must utilize his abilities in a “battle for survival”. Players must use various weapons and abilities to survive, just like other popular battle royale games.

“Join the fray, eliminate your enemies, and climb the ranks,” the message reads in the game’s trailer.

Square Enix also announced a second mobile game on Thursday (25/2/2021) called Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. Unlike First Soldier, Ever Crisis is a single player game with a chapter structure covering the entire FF7 timeline, including events from the original game and the FF7 compilation.

At the State of Play event, Square Enix also announced Final Fantasy 7 Remake Intergrade, an upgrade to the FF7 Remake game for PlayStation 5. Released June 10, Intergrade will feature the game with improved visuals, much faster loading times, Photo Mode, haptic feedback , and a new episode featuring the character Yuffie.
