EVOS Esports Roars Loudly in Week 5 of MPL ID Season 4

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Mobile Legends: Bang Bang Professional League (MPL) Indonesia Season 4 has completed all matches in its fifth week. In this fifth week, there are a number of exciting matches that are too interesting to pass up; such as RRQ against Aura which was quite tense and EVOS Esports, which was at its peak of performance, again managed to beat the defending champion ONIC Esports.

On the first day of the fifth week, EVOS again beat the defending champion and one of the favorite teams to win, ONIC. EVOS also regained full points on the third day of this week against Bigetron. However, looking at the history of EVOS in MPL since Season 1, they seem to have been cursed at this most dynamic esports event.

EVOS has made it through to the final round of MPL ID twice (Season 1 and 2) and twice they have failed to win. And the worst curse occurred in Season 3, they only ended up in 7th position. Looking at the movement and history of EVOS in MPL, each of their matches in S4 is a valuable bet for the big names of EVOS and the big players in it such as Oura, Donkey, Rekt , Wann, and his friends.

In the same week, the MPL ID S2 champion, RRQ, also managed to give a maximum performance that was better than the previous week. This time, they managed to beat Alter Ego and Aura Esports (2–0 each). The performance of Lemon, Tuturu, and his friends also gradually improved after a less than smooth start to the season. Armed with a combined roster formation between 1st place MPL ID S1 (LJ, Billy, and Rave) and 1st place MPL ID S2 (Tuturu, Lemon, AyamJago, and Liam) as well as several senior players, on paper, RRQ deserves to be the favorite champion this time.

ONIC, who is the 1st winner of MPL ID S3 as well as the 2021 MSC champion, indeed seems to be concrete evidence of how dynamic the MLBB esports battle map is. The reason is, in Season 3 and MSC 2021, they really showed a perfect performance. However, this season, they have even struggled to sit in the top 3 of the standings. Until this fifth week, Udil and his friends only managed to stay in 4th place with a 54% winrate (won 5 times, lost 4 times).

Aura Esports, which contains more new players, is even able to provide a more consistent performance. While the Alter Ego is strengthened by a number of experienced players such as Rmitchi, Arss, Maungzy, Chester, et al. instead, they can only survive in the middle board together with Bigetron.

The last team that is interesting to be the focus of this discussion is Genflix Aerowolf (GFLX). Although reinforced by ex-Louvre players (Kido, Watt, YoR, Jeel, and Marsha) who previously could only be defeated by ONIC, GFLX seems to have yet to find the chemistry and rhythm of the game (although it is also fronted by a player who calls himself “Senam Infrastructure”). Until the fifth week ended, GFLX had not even been able to reap 1 victory though.

Maybe the GFLX players need more bananas and coffee to catch up. With the 6 highest teams in the final standings of the Regular Season qualifying for the Grand Finals, GLFX’s fate is on the line. Once again they had to swallow defeat, lost their chance to advance to the next round. Plus, they had to fight hard because they had to fight tough teams like EVOS (Week 6), RRQ (Week 7), and ONIC (Week 8).

How is the continuation of the most dynamic esports event in Indonesia in the sixth week? Can GFLX escape the relegation zone? Can EVOS and RRQ still be consistent? Satisfied Udil, Drian, AntiMage, Sasa, et al. not ranked in the top 3 and accounted for their jargon, “up above the sky, is there still ONIC?”
