Enliven the Competitive Scene, Metaco Holds Max Valorant Tournament

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Currently VALORANT already has 10 million players worldwide. But unfortunately, the pro scene VALORANT is less resonant in Indonesia. Therefore, Metaco as one of the esports startups is trying to revive the VALORANT pro scene through the MAX Valorant Minor Tournament.

“We held this VALORANT tournament to provide tournaments for non-mainstream games in Indonesia,” said Iskandar Ramli as CEO of Metaco.

For starters, Metaco will encompass 32 teams competing for a prize pool of IDR 10 million. This tournament is a pilot project for Metaco for the VALORANT pro scene. If this pilot project is successful, it is possible that Metaco will include VALORANT into Project Max which is usually filled by mobile games such as Free Fire, Mobile Legends and PUBG Mobile.

“We think VALORANT has the potential to become a big game in Indonesia. This game uses gameplay similar to Counter-Strike, but with lighter specifications. These specifications make Valorant more accessible to many people. Not only that, the presence of Riot Games as a publisher has also made this game able to have a growing esports scene in Indonesia,” added Iskandar.

The MAX Valorant Minor Tournament will open registration on September 13 to 26, 2021. With a target of the preliminary round which will be held on October 5 to 8, 2021. Meanwhile, the last eight will be held on October 10, 2021.

The semifinal and final rounds of the MAX Valorant Minor Tournament will be held on October 17 and 18 2021. All rounds of the MAX Valorant Minor Tournament will be held online in order to comply with the PSBB (Large-Scale Social Restrictions) rules which are currently being re-enacted.

The MAX Valorant Minor Tournament is sponsored by AMD, Steel Series, and Western Digital. In addition, this event is also supported by NimoTV and MyRepublic.
