Booyah Not for Hackers, Within Two Weeks Garena Bans 1.6 Million Cheaters Accounts

GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Garena has started their crackdown on hackers and cheaters in 2021. Cheating and hacking have been a persistent problem for their popular battle royale game, Free Fire. To overcome this, Garena as the developer has implemented an anti-cheat system that detects the use of cheats and prohibits players from using them.

Other survivors are also expected to report the hackers to Garena. Free Fire also regularly publishes bi-weekly reports to show how many accounts have been blocked. In 2021 alone, Garena blocked more than 30 million accounts for using cheats to gain profits on Free Fire.

In its latest biweekly report, Free Fire revealed that it had blocked a total of 1,683,261 accounts for using cheats. 53 percent of these accounts were banned due to reports from other players. Free Fire also penalized 113,005 accounts for deliberately cooperating with hackers. They were punished with demotion to Bronze I for playing with cheaters or hackers.

Cheaters caught for using modified scripts/programs will immediately be permanently banned. Percentage of cheat modifications used: 10% Antenna Cheat, 9% Wallhack, 42% Auto-Aim(Headshot), 35% Teleport and 4% Others.

“We strive to maintain fair play and maintain an honest playing experience for all players. We also hope and want to remind all Survivors not to log into Free Fire using unlicensed applications and not to take advantage of bugs in the In-game,” wrote the Free Fire Anti-Hack Operations team.

Garena has previously issued warning notices for players to stop cheating and hacking. They also issued a list of actions that can get players banned. Here are 7 things that are prohibited:

  • Using a modified or unauthorized game client.
  • Using unauthorized tools that interact with the Free Fire game client.
  • Using non-official programs to give gameplay an edge.
  • Modify model files to gain unfair advantage.
  • Take advantage of glitches or bugs to take advantage of the gaming experience.
  • Reported by multiple players and detected for abnormal gameplay simultaneously.
  • Bypassing Free Fire’s anti-hack system via prohibited local data transfer.

Garena invites survivors to continue reporting cheaters through the in-game reporting function. This is in order to maintain and build a better Free Fire for the common good.
