Affected by COVID, Alter Ego without Maungzy at M2 World Championship 2021
GAMEFINITY.ID, Jakarta – Alter Ego’s mainstay offlaner, Ahmad alias Maungzy, will certainly not be able to appear at the M2 World Championship 2021. The news was confirmed directly by Alter Ego through a statement on his Instagram account.
“Thanks to those of you who have prayed for my speedy recovery. And we will continue to support Alter Ego in M2,” said Ahmad as quoted from ONE Esports.
Ahmad had contracted COVID-19 and could not recover in time. Ahmad was exposed to the Corona virus after attending an event filled with E-Sports Influencers and several other pro players on Saturday, December 19, 2021. After hearing the news, Dalwyn decided to do a swab test for all personnel on December 21, 2021. The results showed that all of the personnel were negative. except for Ahmad who tested positive for Covid-19.
Ahmad’s position in the Alter Ego team had to be replaced by Yam in the M2 World Championship. Maungzy’s absence in the Alter Ego team is certainly detrimental to the MPL Indonesia Season 6 runner-up. Because Ahmad’s position in the Alter Ego team as an offlaner is irreplaceable. The chemistry that exists between Ahmad, Udil, Celiboy, Leomurphy and PAI can be said to have been very good.
Alter Ego is in Group C with two other teams, Bren Esports from the Philippines and 10S Gaming Frost from Japan. However, according to Alter Ego boss Delwyn Sukamto, Yam has also been training with the team and is ready to replace Ahmad.
“Alterchamps, calm down, we’ve been training with YAM since the beginning, we’ve started training on December 20,” he said.
