3 Errors of Mobile Legends Tank Users in Meta Season 18 (October 2021)

In this meta Mobile Legends season 18, there are many quite a lot of changes so that the playing style of the tank must also be adapted compared to the previous Hypercarry meta.

In the past, tanks always attached hero cores all the time. But now in meta 18 we see where the hero tank becomes more active for riot on the map of the opponent’s area. In addition to opening vision, you also harm the opponent’s core hero who must be busy serving the tank rese. So that your core becomes comfortable farming without interruption.

So in the past, where the tank heroes that sold out were CC area heroes such as Khufra, Tigreal, Akai and Atlas. In meta season 18 the tank heroes that sell well are heroes who are already strong in the early game, have considerable damage, skills with fast cooldowns and can roam quickly.

Heroes such as Hilda, Khaleed, Chou, Baxia and Jawhead are tank heroes that are more popular today. You can see it for yourself in the MPL season 6 playoffs where the team will prioritize these heroes.

Thus is 3 mobile legends season 18 tank user error (updated October 2021):

1. Too often seen on the map

Tanks are very important for open vision of a team. When your team’s vision is wide, your core and sidelane heroes will be able to farm and push lane safely. How to open vision (open map)?

A tank must dare to explore and riot into the opposing team’s area, guarding the hero core who is farming in the lane or in the jungle by cursing in the bush. In the enemy’s mini map, tanks that are rarely seen will make the opposing team more wary. Bush is your best friend.

So that the opposing team is more afraid to push or farm in the lane for fear of being robbed of combo tanks and support. After all, a tank also doesn’t need to help core farming in the lane because tank damage is usually small.

Then the tank also buys roaming items so that farming near the core will not increase the tank’s gold and exp. So tanks can stay high-level and have a lot of gold if they are diligent in assisting when ganking/war and helping the team do objectives such as push turrets and turtle/lord.

Your team will be much more difficult to do this if you appear in the lane continuously. Enemies become more aware of your team’s movements and are more predictable.

2. Follow the Core Farming Jungle

Since update Next Mobile Legends has been released, there is one important point that not many people seem to know. That is when there is more than 1 hero who buffs, then jungle monsters will get thicker. So it will take longer for a core hero to finish off the jungle monster.

After all, as in the first point, the damage from the tank is quite small. So throwing tank skills to jungle monsters is not too significant in helping the core to kill jungle monsters. So it doesn’t help the core anymore, in fact the tank is wasting time because it doesn’t open the vision and roams to the sidelane.

It would be better for a tank to guard the hero core by opening the map, which makes your team’s hero core difficult to gank. Instead of helping to hold the core of the jungle monster, instead of helping it slows down the kill of the jungle monster.

After all, most cores now only do jungle at level 2, because they usually spend the minions in the midlane first. Most of the core heroes at level 2 can kill the jungle alone. Maybe tanks and support can help throw skills into jungle monsters, then immediately move away from the core so it doesn’t take long to kill the jungle monster.

You can see here Khaleed’s gameplay from RRQ.Vyn which opens vision and is very riotous in the enemy jungle area. So that Xin & Albert can farm well and Marz’s Ling has to go back and forth because his buff is disturbed.

3. Initiation regardless of team position

Well this is a mistake that an inexperienced tank always makes. It’s useless if your Fatal Link gets hit by 5 heroes, if all of your teammates are still far away. In fact, you are wasting your skills and even die being attacked by the enemy.

When you want to roam and initiate war. Always check on the minimap whether any of your teammates are ready in position. Also check whether their ultimate is off cooldown or not.
