Valve Announces Artifact, Dota Themed Card Game

Valve doesn’t want to be left behind in the market digital card game. They announced Artifact, digital card game themed Dota.

Games this was announced at the Dota 2 The International 2021 tournament, and will be released in 2021. According to the Kotaku article, games this will use the hero as well as some aspects in Dota 2 as barracks and creeps as the card. Unfortunately, Valve doesn’t show what it looks like gameplay or view from games the. Videos trailers what is shown also only shows the Artifact logo which somehow reminds me of the Google Chrome logo.

Valve is not the first developer to make digital card game. After Blizzard’s success with Hearthstone which was originally themed World of Warcraft, many developers are involved in making digital card game. Some of them are Shadowverse, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, The Elder Scrolls: Legends, Faeria, and Duelist. But of all games that, only Hearthstone and Clash Royale which can advance as a branch esports who are quite successful and have a lot audience.

Valve itself has not disclosed the plans yet Artifact will be pushed as esports games or not. But if it turns out games It’s popular and played by many people, it’s not impossible that we will have a new title here digital card game genre that can compete with popularity Hearthstone.
