The Secret to Mineski's Great Performance in the Star Ladder Tournament
The Mineski eSports team became the Runner Up in the Starladder Tournament event that just took place, but many say that currently Mineski is the best team in the SEA region, whose strength is currently more evenly distributed. In 5 Tournaments, Mineski made it into 4 minor tournaments as a SEA representative. This situation is clearly in contrast to the situation before The International 7 where Mineski could not speak much because of the many failures they experienced in many tournaments.
Mineski has done a lot to be able to compete with other great teams ahead of The International 7 including roster changes. They have done something to bring in players from outside the SEA region, including bringing in ex-Fnatic Mushi but it didn’t help at all, even Mineski didn’t qualify for The International 7.
However, Mineski’s performance was very good after The International 7, until she became a Runner Up in the recent Dota 2 Starladder Tournament and earned 90 QP as a preparation for The International 8.
This is the secret of Mineski’s great performance to beat Team Liquid even though he ended up losing in the Grand Final of the Starladder i-League Invitational 3 with a position of 3 – 1
New Player Arrival
Three new players have entered the team composition after The International 7, Nana from WG. Unity, Jabz and iceiceice from Team Faceless, where these three players are very great players and have been recognized for their abilities in the SEA Region. These three players make Mineski’s game much more attractive and aggressive and many pick heroes that are beyond prediction, such as the Winter Wyvern which is positioned as an offlane.
Aggressive from the first minute
Mineski’s aggressive game has been seen since the first minute by playing a fast tempo is one of the secrets of success in this minor tournament. The heroes they take are mostly heroes who have good push abilities such as Visage and Nature Prophet. And this strategy proved to be a lot of trouble for the tough teams that were the opponents.
In addition to being aggressive, they also play very neatly, even in a state of urgency, not infrequently they do split push which is usually done by iceice.
More coherent with Mushi’s playing style
Mushi is actually a great aggressive player, but unfortunately after The International 6 when he was still with Fnatic, his teammates couldn’t adapt to Mushi’s style of play. What happens is that Mushi often plays games that are detrimental to the team. Even before leaving, Fnatic made a lot of substitutions yet no one could play well with Mushi.
His move to Mineski initially did not get good results, instead leading to his not qualifying for The International 7.
However, since the entry of NaNa, iceiceice, and Jabz, Mushi can find his best game again, even Mushi often changes positions with NaNa either as a carry or in the midlane. In addition, the aggressiveness of Jabz and iceiceice also helps a lot Mushi’s game is growing.
This minor Starladder tournament is the beginning of their long journey to The International 2021 which is planned to be held outside the United States.
