The King of Fighters XV Officially Postponed Until First Quarter 2022
The King of Fighters XV, which is the next entry in the popular fighting game series from SNK, has been postponed again. The game was officially postponed from 2021 to Q1 2022 due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the game’s development timeline.
SNK as the developer confirmed this in a press release, and The King of Fighter XV producer, Yasuyuki Oda explained the team’s difficult decision to postpone the upcoming fighting game.
There are a lot of fans anticipating the release of KOF XV in 2021, but at this point, unfortunately we have to announce that KOF XV will now be launching in the first quarter of 2022.
The development timeline that we wanted to achieve at the outset has been affected by the steadily increasing COVID-19 cases in Japan. We have made the final decision in the end that product quality should come first, and with that decision came the modified release window.
We sincerely ask for your patience and understanding as our development team continues to work hard on KOF XV as we get closer to its release.
