The International 2021 (TI10) Canceled Due to the Corona Virus Crisis?
The Corona Virus pandemic, which has closed various events and events around the world, has even been cancelled, prompting Valve to make a quick move by canceling the fourth major and minor tournaments of the 2021-2021 DPC, including the ESL One Los Angeles and the Epicenter Major. With an incident like this, it is not impossible that The International Dota 2 Tournament in 2021 (TI10) will also be canceled.
This very heavy and difficult decision was conveyed by Valve through their latest twitter post. “After careful consideration of the current state and trajectory of the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the health risks posed to competitors, staff and fans, we have made the difficult decision to cancel the 4th minor and major tournaments of the DPC Season. Given the continued high level of instability in both the pandemic and geopolitics, we will continue to follow the situation and decide how to approach the final major and minor of the season as the week progresses.”
The International 2021 Canceled Due to Corona Virus?
The ESL One Los Angeles Major has been canceled due to coronavirus concerns and following the OGA Dota PIT Minor 2021 and EPICENTER Major 2021. Not only that, the ONE Esports Singapore Major, which is the fifth and last Major Tournament this season, is also in danger of being cancelled.
Valve is still monitoring the current situation, even more so that Singapore is currently struggling to fight the Corona Virus pandemic. The cancellation of this event inevitably creates a huge void in the Dota 2 pro scene calendar as the entire tournament structure is built around qualifying for The International each year.
With the cancellation of this tournament event, it will clearly affect the DPC points of The International 2021 (TI10) this year. Even if the Corona Virus pandemic does not subside by early April, it is not impossible that The International 2021 Dota 2 (TI10) tournament will be canceled.
Valve’s decision saddens all parties, especially DOTA 2 fans who always wait for this grand event every year. However, this decision was not without cause and purpose, all of this was done for the safety and security of all parties involved in it.
Esports Tournaments Other Than TI10 Canceled
Not only the fourth Minor and Major Tournament in the 2021-2021 Dota Pro Circuit (DPC) series. The competition was supposed to be held in early 2021 in Malaysia, then moved to Macau in mid-February. PUBG Global Series 2021
The PUBG Global Series 2021 with prizes of USD 500,000 or more than IDR 6 billion is planned to be held on March 31 – April 12, 2021 at Messe, Berlin. However, due to the coronavirus pandemic that has spread in Europe, this tournament has been canceled and is awaiting further notice.
