Tencent Creates a PUBG Substitute Game for China

Telset.id, Jakarta – Tencent is generous, letting go games PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG is out of China. Instead, Tencent is preparing a new game similar to PUBG, specifically for gamers in the Bamboo Curtain country.

The Chinese government has issued a rule that prohibits the PUBG game from being played in China. This Chinese company inevitably has to comply with regulations regarding content games that applies in that country.

According to reports CNN, as quoted Telset.id, Friday (10/5/2021), Tencent was willing to eliminate PUBG in China to avoid sanctions. Moreover, market games China is Tencent’s biggest source of revenue.

Tencent’s decision to remove PUBG in China was revealed from a Weibo social media user’s upload. It was explained that PUBG account owners could switch to Game for Peace which is still being developed by the Tencent team.

The appearance of Game for Peace is exactly the same as PUBG Mobile. Game playit’s just different. Game for Peace has an anti-terror theme that boasts China’s elite troops. Game for Peace puts forward patriotic elements.

Game for Peace will not display blood when players are inside games shot. There are also no bodies of fallen players. Precisely the fallen players will wake up, say goodbye and disappear.

Tencent said that Game for Peace carries a different genre. So far, there has been no protest from gamer China regarding its presence. PUBG Mobile itself has been free for a year in China and can’t be monetized yet.

Not long ago, Tencent just made a new announcement. They have released an update for PUBG Mobile (ver 0.12.0) which contains several new gameplay modes. Tencent presents a mode against zombies. [SN/HBS]
