Secret, Liquid, and Fnatic Absent from Dota 2 Boston Major After Falling Out in Qualifying Round

The almost complete Dota 2 Boston Major qualifiers seem to be an indication that the Dota 2 power map will change, at least for the next few months. Of the three regional qualifiers that have been completed so far, we got some surprises, especially from the European and Southeast Asian regions.

We start from Southeast Asia, where Team Faceless managed to easily win tickets to Boston. Amazingly, this new team made by Iceiceice escaped with a total score of 12-0, aka never lost even once throughout this qualification. In addition, they also use a variety of different strategies, from strategy-oriented teamfight with Timbersaw to strategy heavy push with Pugna and Jakiro.

What is surprising in this area is the team that accompanies him. Fnatic, who on paper should have been more experienced, turned out to be defeated after losing to Warriors Gaming Unity (WG Unity). WG Unity itself did not stop there. They also beat Mineski and won the last ticket for the Southeast Asia region.

By the way, if you ask how about RRQ in this qualifier, they were knocked out in the group phase with a score of 0-8. So… yeah, Indonesia is still far behind and still has to improve.

The biggest surprise in this qualifier probably came from the European region. Ad Finem from Greece unexpectedly managed to become the first team to qualify, defeating the top two teams Team Liquid and Team Secret, both with a score of 2-0. Team Secret itself apparently had to fall after losing to Virtus.Pro, who then also defeated Team Liquid and accompanied Ad Finem to Boston.

This result made Team Secret absent for the first time in a tournament held by Valve (Major and The International). For Liquid itself, this result is a question mark on the sustainability of their team, which has so far been very inconsistent despite having top players. But we must also be amazed at Ad Finem, who after failing to qualify for the Manila Major and The International 2021, never changed roster and kept trying.

The American region qualifier itself almost created a surprise when the Infamous team from Peru was able to drop the FDL and had time to make CompLexity hassle in the struggle for the last ticket for the Americas region. Unfortunately, Infamous had to admit the superiority of CompLexity who managed to advance to Boston following Team NP who first passed this qualification.

The qualifiers for the Chinese region are still ongoing, leaving only IG.Vitality, LGD, and LGD.ForeverYoung. These three teams are fighting for the final two spots at the Boston Major.

The Dota 2 Boston Major will be held on December 3 and 4 for the group stage, and December 7 to 10 for the group stage. playoffs. Of the teams that already exist today, which team do you prefer, then what are the chances for surprise teams to qualify for qualification like Ad Finem and WG Unity in the future? Will they continue to make surprises, or will they just end up as a team that “enjoys” it?
