Satisfied with MSC 2021, Kompas TV intends to broadcast The International 2021

After broadcasting Mobile Legends Southeast Asia Championship 2021, Kompas TV looks like it will continue to do it push in the field esports. One of the strong candidates for the tournament that will be broadcast later is the tournament Dota 2 world class, namely The International 2021.

For those of you who don’t know, the final round of the 2021 MSC tournament last weekend was broadcast live on Kompas TV. This is the first time a tournament esports broadcast live on local TV channels.

Reporting from BolaSport, Kompas Gramedia Group of Media CEO Andy Budiman said he was satisfied with the tournament. “By looking at the atmosphere at this venue, you can say it’s extraordinary. Even though those who competed in the final were not representatives from Indonesia, they were still enthusiastic about watching the match to the end,” he said.

Unfortunately, he didn’t reveal any statistics on either the number of viewers or the rating MSC 2021 final live broadcast on Kompas TV.

But one thing is for sure, Kompas TV will not stop at just one tournament. Andy Budiman admitted that esports is the right content for Kompas TV, which is targeting audiences aged 15 years and over.

“In order to reach millennials, we must provide them with relevant content such as esports. After having Stand Up Comedy, esports is one of Kompas TV’s important road maps,” he added.

“We will be serious in all eSports branches, not only Mobile Legends. We are still learning and will continue to experiment in the eSports field, both from the broadcast side and others.”

According to BolaSport, the next tournament that will be broadcast by Kompas TV is The International 2021 which will start from August 15 for the group phase, and play stage from the 20th of August. It’s just that there is no information whether this is already fix and whether Kompas TV will only broadcast the final round.
